I bought a vacumn cleaner last month that kept cutting out within an hour of using it and the off switch didn't work so I had to turn it off at the plug. The store (boulangier) have a 7day refund policy so I took it back on day 5 and they were closed for inventory:rolleyes: So I managed to get back there on Day 8 with receipt of course. They treated me like a liar, told me I was a liar. They switched the vaccum on and just my luck it wouldn't turn off but I did point out to them that the "off" switch didn't work which they accepted was a manufacturers fault. They sent me home with the vaccuum saying it wasn't their issue and told me to ring the manufacturer. I rang them and they said that I would have to deliver to them in Malaga and they are at least an hour away driving like a maniac. Needless to say I have written it off as a bad experience but I will definitely not be going back to that shop ever again.

Dog Mess

It wasn't until this week walking a friend's dog whilst she is on holiday, that I notice how much dog mess there is on the pavements where I live. I was under strict instructions to take bags out with me to clean up after her but it seems that nobody else bothers.

What do people think, that as soon as their dog has done their mess someone from the council comes and picks it up? I wouldn't want to be walking around with a toddler unstable on their feet and I hate to imagine it but small children must fall on this poo as the pavements are covered, some of the poos as big as horse mess.

I can't believe how inconsiderate people are letting their dogs foul right in the middle of a pavement. In some parts of the pavement it is impossible for two or three people to walk in tow.

Unbearable heat!

Today is refreshingly cool after yesterday's furnace like temperatures. I find that intense heat as restrictive as rail and hail although my neighbours love it and are happy to bask in it all day. I wish I could enjoy it but it makes me irritable, sticky and just plain yucky.

The supermarkets are heaving with tourists moving very slowly through the aisles decifering all the foreign names and planning their week's meals. Also what also struck me yesterday in Mercadona was the elevated prices. I don't know whether this is due to the tourist season or inflation. For example a medium sized tin of their own brand of tuna was until recently 80 cents but it has shot up to 1,20! This seems to be the case with most products and my final bill yesterday was about 40 to 50 euros more than it used to be when we arrived four years ago!

I can't believe how fast summer is flying by. Usually by this point we have done a waterpark at least once, sat on the beach as a family more than once and been to the zoo at night in Fuengirola ( a must do if you have children to see the late night bird shows)! But there's no need to panic as there's still plenty of summer left.

Cold here!

A friend and I decided to go out walking last night and we must have chosen the coldest night of the summer. It was threatening to down pour so much that we cut our walk short and stopped for a cappucino. Today, it is windy, chilly and dark. I have to say that I don't mind as the constant heat can get exhausting so I am going to enjoy the couple of days of respite before the temperatures soar again.

A month has past

Well it's been nearly a month since my last blog it appears. The past month has been spent in and out of hospitals both in Spain and the UK, moving house and getting into the swing of summer. It soon comes round and before you know it you are living in a furnace.

You cannot underestimate how hot it is a t moment. If you are coming out, don't bother with suitcases as you don't need clothes. When I was in the UK a couple of weeks my mum bought my daughters some summer dresses. They were reduced in the UK because they were such thin material and just couldn't be worn in the British summer. Whilst I was in the UK I couldn't have even contempleted them wearing them without a sheepskin coat on top but over here they are actually quite thick for the heat!

Well I just wanted to pop my face in again to get back into my blog and I promise that there's more coming soon.
